Poplar Chamfered Bung 2-1/4"

The 2-1/4" Poplar Chamfered Bungs are identical to the standard poplar bungs except for the sides. While the standard poplar bungs have tapered sides, the poplar chamfered bungs have straight sides with a heavy chamfer on the bottom. These bungs are intended for head-filled barrels that have a straight sided hole. The straight sides of the bung allow for maximum contact with the sides of the hole, and the heavy chamfer allows for easy insertion. Poplar expands well to create a tight seal but is also soft enough to eliminate any risk of damaging the barrel. The 2-1/4” diameter fits the majority of 53-gallon top-filled spirit barrels. Custom diameters and thicknesses are also available upon request.
